I'm thankful that we are able to give our kids opportunities that we were never able to do. That's the dream, isn't it? Giving our children what we didn't have, making them better people than who we are. It helps that our kids are at a fun age where they are excited to try new things and experiences. They haven't reached that stage where they're super self-conscious. I wish I still had some of that fearlessness. But no, I hide in the back of the room when doing Zumba. :) After watching Jackson ... Read More
Tournament Time
Jackson's first basketball tournament was last weekend and I'm still processing how I feel about it. That sounds so silly: it was a basketball game. What's the big deal? The games themselves were fine. They won 2, lost 1. They all played hard, and with only 2 subs, they got lots of playing time. Here are a few of my favorite photos of Jackson: So what's the problem? Five Things
Five Things I Know For Sure... 1. Healthy Eating Is Friggin' Hard. I feel great. Really good. But I want chocolate. Stress
image via etsy This week is kicking my ass. It's been so stressful that I had to use ass, rather than booty. It's been that bad. Work is going crazy and I haven't been able to work out and I feel like the kids' activities are slowly taking over our lives. I know that this is just the next stage in parenthood, where we play taxi cab and juggle our jobs and all while trying to eat dinner before 10pm, but right now it sucks. And I'm exhausted. Both physically and mentally. I find myself zoning ... Read More
25 Days of Christmas Movies
We are scaling waaaaaaay back this Christmas in terms of our time. We've always volunteered at church during the months of November and December, but this year we had a Family Meeting and decided it was time to take a year off. Now that we have all this extra time, we are packing in everything Christmas we possibly can. The kids came up with this idea to do 25 Days of Christmas Movies. ABC Family plays Christmas movies every night, but we decided to skip the commercials and start our own DVD ... Read More
