Trenton: He'll soon be driving! And the day can't come soon enough. I'm probably more excited than he is. Mainly because he will now be able to drive himself and his brothers around to all of their practices and basketball games and church rehearsals. I'm a little nervous to have them on the road alone, as I'm sure most parents are, but I just gotta aim and release. :) Still drumming like crazy. And it's still loud. We've given him a specific set of hours (3pm-5pm) when he's ... Read More

Trenton: He smells like pepper. Literal pepper, people. Those lovely teenage hormones have kicked in and even though he showers once a day, he still smells. I even bought him a (whole lotta) body spray and put a Bath & Body Works plugin in every one of my outlets. I know this phase will pass...but then I have 2 other boys and their hormones to deal with. Pretty soon I'll be skipping the plugin and just sprinkling the oil directly on them. The Ice Cream Man is making a killing off our ... Read More

I always wanted to be a mom of boys. My younger, ambitious, teenage self actually wanted 4 boys and 1 girl. But then I started buying diapers and settled for 3. I read back over the first post I did of the boys' update and man, things change fast! Some of the things they were doing 3 months ago, I've forgotten about, so I'm glad I wrote them down. Trenton: Prepare To Have Your Mind Blown: When I was little I used to collect Coke bottles. I would put them up on this shelf I had in my room. I specifically remember buying this single glass Coke bottle when I was 13, in 1993. I remember because I bought it cold and desperately wanted to drink it. But ... Read More

It occurred to me the other day that I used to do a fairly good job journaling my kids' personalities and firsts when they were really little. Because when they're little, getting their first tooth or taking their first steps are a HUGE deal. But once those firsts were done...I was done. And I should clarify, once those firsts were done with Trenton, I was done. I did a horrible job journaling Jackson and Aidon. Chalk it up to 2nd (and 3rd) kid. So I'm going to attempt to journal again, ... Read More
