I'm ready for Christmas. Well, at least the house is. I haven't bought a single gift or baked a single cookie, but the fake tree is up and our power bill is about to sky rocket. :) And I feel no shame. Not one, tiny twinkle light of shame. Taylor McTittle, just waitin' around for December 1st, when he can start reporting naughty or nice behavior. Little mantle hanging trees make me happy. Yes, all you Thanksgiving lovers, I'll still celebrate Thanksgiving and I didn't forget about it. ... Read More
Blank Space
I have a wall in our living room that desperately needs a little TLC. Usually I don't move onto new projects until I'm completely done with my other projects. I still have a lot of work to do on the dining room, but I've decided to cheat on the dining room with the living room. Mainly because we have one, lone, little light in the living room. And when it starts to get dark at 4pm in the PNW, it's kinda hard to see anything. Have you read that book, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie? Because ... Read More
Dining Room Progress
I am so excited to show you all the update on the dining room wall! It's FINALLY finished and I could not be happier with how it turned out. This is how the wall looked when we moved in. Project Home – Dining Room

My number one priority this year is the dining room and kitchen. I've been begging Huz for months to pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease either do it yourself or find someone who can just. Finish. The. Wall. And he did. Or more precisely, my cousin did. He came over and took one look at us and said he's take care of it. I'm not sure if he just felt bad for us ... Read More
Dining Room Progress
I've made very little progress on the updates to our dining room. I blame summer. And my family. And the weather. It's too hard to do DIY projects when there's white water to be rafting. I did finish 2 walls, which I'm pretty excited about though. You may remember this dresser... It used to live in our bedroom with all our clothes in it. (I say "our" but it was mainly "my.") Minor detail. And you may remember the dining room used to look like this... Just a window. In a wall. While the ... Read More
