You’d think my family would be used to family photos by now, but nope, they sure aren’t. Even the mere mention of family photos elicits groans, eye-rolls and just getting up and walking out of the room mid-conversation.
And this year was no different. But I was able to get a few shots in before all the cussing. 🙂
Living in Washington state gives you access to the most beautiful scenery and backdrops. You’re almost doing yourself a disservice if you live in the PNW but aren’t taking advantage of it. We’ve found some great spots over the years and for our Winter Pics we headed up to the Alpental Bridge at the Ski Resort in Snoqualmie.
The drive isn’t bad and we were fortunate enough not to need chains or snow tires, but you actually want to see snow. It makes for a gorgeous photo. The problem is that when there’s snow, there’s also skiers. And that can make for a tricky photoshoot on the bridge. The bridge is what connects the ski resort to the parking lot (and also to the base of the Snow Lake Hike) so people are constantly traveling back and forth. Which, they should, that’s what the bridge is there for. But when you’re trying to get a few good shots in and not have any skis poking over the top of your head, you’ve gotta be fast.
All of the skiers were pretty gracious with us and there were a few other photoshoots happening at the same time as ours too. But it all worked out great.
So Winter Photos are over and I’m already planning out Spring of 2020. Don’t tell my boys.
