And just like that…it’s Spring Break. We had originally planned to take a trip with Trenton to Washington DC (a trip he’s had planned with his school band since the beginning of the school year) but it’s a lot of money to fly across the country!
And Trenton asked us, albeit kindly, not to go. 🙂
So we took Jackson and Aidon down to Cannon Beach instead. The trip was great, the hotel was awesome and the only complaint we had was the weather. It didn’t pour, but the next trip we take there will definitely be in the summer months.
We stayed at the Surf Sand Resort, right on the beach. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Super clean, great location, friendly staff, etc. The hotel has dog-friendly rooms, but we didn’t up getting one when we booked ours. Ironically, when we got to our room, they had dog bowls and a little bed laid out for Murphy, so we could have brought him with us.

The boys got caught a little too far out and a giant wave got them and they both basically swam in. I thought it was funny, but Dad wasn’t too happy. He got pretty soaked too, as he was about to swim out there to get them.

If you get a chance to visit, be sure to check out Crepe Neptune!

Had to check out the Tillamook Factory. They did some renovating since we were there last, so it was fun to check out their new stuff!

Aidon found this hat and against my better judgment, we bought it for him. And he hasn’t taken it off since.

We rented bikes on our trip too and this definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Be warned though: it’s a killer ab/leg workout.

It started to rain towards the end of our bike rides, so we headed down to Seaside and checked out the aquarium and arcade.

We ended our trip with a little shopping in Washington Square and dinner at Jackson’s favorite restaurant, Din Tai Fung. He wasn’t feeling his best, but still managed to eat an entire thing of dumplings, 1 bowl of green beans, 1/2 the order of noodles and 2 Cokes. Boys.

It was such a fun trip and we’re already planning on going back again in the summer months!
