Trenton’s band had the privilege of playing at the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle this weekend and oh my goodness it was so much fun. I can’t explain how incredible it feels to watch your kid do something they love and have dreamed about since they were little. Trenton’s plan has always been to play in a band. From Day 1, he would practice in his room with his guitar and my phone or a DVD that he’d play on repeat. I remember when he was 5 years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a red guitar, because he was obsessed with The Wiggles and Murray’s red guitar.
And while I am ever the encourager of his hopes and dreams, if I’m being honest, I didn’t think he’d ever actually do it. Sure, he’s in the band at school and he messes around with his friends on FaceTime, etc., but I didn’t think I’d ever see the day where he’d literally be on a stage playing his red guitar, jamming his little heart out, much less getting paid for it.
But that’s exactly what happened on Friday. And I can guarantee there weren’t any 2 people in the room more proud than Huz and I.
