Jackson had another basketball tournament last weekend and so it was off to Port Angeles! At the last minute, Trenton and Aidon opted to stay home, which I was little bummed about at first, until I realized this meant we no longer needed to find a dog sitter for Murphy. So we left them with the dog and a list of chores.
And no, the chores didn’t get done.
The weekend was pretty much what you’d expect: basketball, driving, and bad hotels. I’m so glad we decided to invest in some padded seats, because if we’re not sitting in the car on our way to a game, we’re sitting on bleachers watching a game.
This was pretty much our view for 2 days.
The boys played a good game and Huz and I kept it together for most of the weekend. We get a crazy watching Jackson play and I’m pretty sure when the refs and coaches are giving the Sportsmanship Talk, they’re aiming it directly at us. We’re a work in progress. 🙂
We had a little down time between games and managed to get in a little exploring. This is the view from the water, looking out to the Strait of Juan de Fuca. And just beyond that is CANADA!
Sidenote: these photos were all taken with my phone and I’m so impressed with the camera and the Portrait Mode.
We had breakfast at La Bella Creperie in downtown Port Angeles and my only regret was that we each ordered a crepe. They were oh-so good, but MASSIVE. It’s hard to take leftovers when you don’t have a fridge and it’s just going to sit in (and stink up) your car.
We also had coffee at this coffee shop called Bada Bean NW and I am personally petitioning to get them to come to Puyallup.
First, check out the decor. Love it.
I didn’t get a pic of the menu, but I had a drink called Into The Woods. And while Justin Timberlake was not included with my purchase, I had 24oz of a White Chocolate Mocha with Huckleberry Drizzle.
Now, all my caramel lattes from Starbucks are just boring.
Our last stop of the trip was to Silver City Brewery in Silverdale and I had the Chicken with Goat Cheese and Mushrooms and words have not yet been invented to describe how good this dish was. It was absolutely, 100% worth the stop.
There are not pictures of me in this restaurant, because my face was covered with mashed potatoes. 🙂
