It’s officially summer here in the PNW and our family has but 1 goal: take advantage of Washington. People come here to vacation from all over the world and being that we get the opportunity to actually LIVE here, I figured it was time to see some of the sights in our own backyard.
Earlier this year I made of list of to-do’s. Everything from mountain hikes, to shopping downtown, to trying new foods, to tours of the underground, to road trips to the ocean. The probability of us actually accomplishing ALL of these things is pretty slim, I will admit, but there’s always next year.
This weekend we drove about 45 minutes north and to the lovely city of Fremont. This trip was two-fold; first because we wanted to visit Warby Parker Writer’s Block and second to see the famous Troll Under the Bridge. Lived here my whole life and have never seen it in person.
But first, coffee. And a walk with Murph.
By the afternoon, the clouds burned off and it ended up being a beautiful day.
Found the Troll! It was crazy busy up by him, but we managed to sneak in a quick pic with the guy.
If you’ve been following along throughout the years, then I’m sure you already know this about me, but I live for Deck Seating in the summer. There’s not much better than a sunny day, a cold drink and patio seating by the water.
So you better believe I was all over Yelp like the basic b*$@# that I am looking for dinner on Lake Union.
And slap your knee, I found a good one. Next time you’re looking for a great patio to sit on while you eat chips and salsa, check out Little Water Cantina. The food was pretty good, but even if it was horrible, the views of Lake Union make it worthwhile. I had the Alaskan Cod, which is pictured below.
Didn’t get any photos of the actual views though, because just as I was about to snap a pic, our waitress came with guacamole. And she could’ve had 3 heads and I wouldn’t have batted an eye, because GUACAMOLE.
It was a great day getting out of the house and, for the most part, not wasting the day away. I say, “for the most part” because I am currently watching the new Power Rangers movie with my boys.
And that’s 2 hours of my life that I’m never getting back, guys.
