We’re baaaaack! Vegas was a bit of a whirlwind, but oh so fun. We swam, we ate, we sunburned.
And we’re happy to be home. 🙂
Taking the kids was fun. There’s been a lot of changes over the past few years and they’ve made it somewhat family friendly. Sure, there was some stuff that their little eyes (or even my poor eyes, for that matter) shouldn’t be seeing, but they did great. We had a little chat with them before we left and prepared them for the craziness that is Vegas.
We took a lot of naps and ate a lot of food, but my average step count for the day was around 15,000 so I think it’s safe to say we worked most of it off. I think my favorite restaurant was Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen and Bar. It’s located in The Linq and has really yummy bar food. Brisket nachos, buffalo wings, truffle fries, etc. We ate there the 1st night and basically licked our plates clean.
We also got to see 2 shows while we were there and I can’t recommend The Beatles Love enough. It was by far my favorite Cirque du Soleil Show yet. I’m not a hardcore Beatles fan or anything, but I cried during Hey Jude. The music was good, the dancing was good, it was just all around amazing. Jackson did fall asleep through part of it (kid should pay me back for his ticket 🙄) and they thought Michael Jackson was the better show.
Things I’ll remember for next time is to budget more money for Uber. We planned on walking everywhere on the strip, but the boys would get REALLY tired after we ate and I have to admit, grabbing an (air conditioned) Uber was nice. Also, I would have booked their Zipline Trip ahead of time. I knew you could schedule in advance, I just didn’t think it would be that busy. I was wrong. It was crazy busy and they weren’t able to do the Upper Line because it was full. Oopsie.
We made another video of our trip, which is below. It’s pretty long and a tad shaky, but these are basically our version of home videos, haha.
All in all, it was a success and we’re ready to start planning next year’s trip. I have no idea where it will be, so your recommendations are welcome!
