Now that I’m all caught up on laundry, I figured it was time to update the blog with pictures from our Disneyland Trip. It’s only been a month. (And yes. There was literally that much laundry to do.)
I decided to split up our trip into different parts, mainly because there are SO many photos. And while I don’t want to overload readers with all things Disney, the whole reason I started this blog was to archive the boys and our memories, so I’m going to be pretty detailed. Or as detailed as my memory will let me be.
First thing you need to know is that this entire trip was planned in secret from the kids. It took about a year to plan/save money and I can’t believe we pulled it off. There were plenty of times we slipped up by saying something about “the hotel” or “when we leave”, but luckily our kids barely listen to us, so our secret was safe.
We decided to pack all their clothes for them, load the car (we drove to California), and tell them the morning of.
You can see the full video of our vacation below. It’s the Cliff’s Notes of my blog posts.
Our first stop was Portland, Oregon for lunch and potty breaks. We don’t have many rules while we’re on vacation, but we do take meals VERY seriously. One of our rules is No Eating At Restaurants You Can Eat At At Home. So that means no Red Robin, no Old Spaghetti Factory, no Applebees, etc.
But the Portland Food Trucks were absolutely approved, so that’s where we ate lunch. 🙂 The kids and I ate falfaels, while Huz had a Philly Cheese Steak.
Then onto a local coffee shop to load up on caffeine.
And I mean, LOAD UP on caffeine. Here is Huz double-fisting some iced lattes.
After we ate, we walked around for a bit, just to get out some energy and let the boys stretch their legs. I don’t think their realized it, but we basically walked them up and down the same few blocks several times, just to get them tired. It worked though.
This photo doesn’t really do the front of the car justice, but it was covered in bugs. This was somewhere in Sacramento, CA and the boys were so grossed out. But not grossed out enough to not get a photo.
We made pretty good time; leaving Portland at 3:30pm, stopping for dinner in Redding (hello, In & Out Burger) at 10:00pm and making it to Anaheim around 7:00am. I ended up driving the majority of the trip down and it wasn’t bad at all. I just made sure to have a supply of Dill Sunflower Seeds to help keep me awake. 🙂
Next stop: Downton Disney!
