Another Daffodil Parade in the books! This year Trenton got to be Lead Snare in the percussion line section area (probably still not the right term) and we couldn’t have been more excited. Trenton was not as excited about us being excited. In fact, on more than one occasion, he asked me to calm the heck down.
But you’re only in the Daffodil Parade once, I argued.
Except that he’s actually in it for a couple more years. Like, 4 to be exact, if he continues with band all throughout high school.
Whatever.
We had the most perfect weather this year, sunny and 70 degrees!
The boys got daffodils from some of the people in the parade, which they handed over to me. At first I thought it was incredibly sweet of them. Until I realized they just didn’t want to hold them so they could keep their hands free for candy.
There were about 140 entries in the parade this year and it was a blast. Here is the Ballou Jr. High Marching Band.
And our little drummer in the middle. With the stunna shades. 🙂
He was just too cool to even look at us. We were SCREAMING his name and jumping up and down, but he wound’t budge. He said that he “wasn’t allowed” to look over…even though every other kid in the band was staring at us. Probably humiliated for Trenton.
But, I mean, why have kids if not to embarrass them? 🙂
