December has been a whirlwind. I usually try to do a weekend recap, but I’m exhausted and still recovering from the last few weeks, so this is the best it’s gonna get!
We took the kids up to Snowflake Lane in Bellevue for the first time and it was awesome. If you’re local, it’s worth the drive and the traffic. And the mess of people. 🙂 It was raining and there was a 2 hours wait to eat at every restaurant we went to, but it was a blast. I think you just have to go up expecting it to be crazy.
I posted this on Instagram last week, but thought I’d share it here too.
Anyone who knows me even a little bit knows that I HATE clutter and messiness. It drives me bonkers. This morning I walked into Aidon’s room to find a huge mess. Drawers tipped upside down, clothes strewn about the floor, items from other rooms pulled into the mess. My initial reaction was irritation: what in the world are they doing?!?! The answer is: they built a time machine. The fan turns on, their helmets go on their heads and they are instantly transported to the year 1832. (Because that’s when dinosaurs roamed the earth. 😂 Didn’t have the heart to tell them they might be a few years off.) I had to remind myself that I shouldn’t be upset about the mess. It can wait. So I hopped into the time machine and got to see some dinosaurs this morning. And yes, if you’re wondering, they are pretty stinkin’ cool.
We took the whole family to see Star Wars The Force Awakens and were not disappointed! It was so good, we’re contemplating seeing it again in IMAX 3D. I won’t post any spoilers, but it’s worth the full movie ticket price. And you know that’s sayin’ a lot from me. 🙂
One of our Christmas Eve traditions is that the boys get to open 1 present each on Christmas Eve. Since we’ve started doing this at Christmas time, I’ve had to start buying an extra gift for them specifically to open on Christmas Eve. (Because no one likes to open a package of boxer briefs on Christmas Eve.)
Jackson and Aidon opened new pajamas and new Pop Figures. (I still don’t fully understand the point of these Pop Figures, other than they are $10 each, they don’t do a darn thing, and we need to have them ALL. Ok, wait. I actually DO fully understand them.)
Trenton unwrapped a new iPhone. His old phone just shut off days before Christmas and while he wasn’t all that concerned, it was driving me crazy not to be able to get a hold of him. I didn’t realize how much I relied on his phone until it was gone. We also wanted to reward him for the fact that he worked so hard on his grades this past semester. So he got a little spoiled this year.
This is one of my favorite photos of the season! The look on Jackson’s face when he opened his Selfie Stick. If you follow him on Instagram…expect a lot of selfies the next few months. 🙂
