We are scaling waaaaaaay back this Christmas in terms of our time. We’ve always volunteered at church during the months of November and December, but this year we had a Family Meeting and decided it was time to take a year off.
Now that we have all this extra time, we are packing in everything Christmas we possibly can.
The kids came up with this idea to do 25 Days of Christmas Movies. ABC Family plays Christmas movies every night, but we decided to skip the commercials and start our own DVD collection.
During dinner one night, we complied a list of movies we wanted to see. (Don’t know if my picks are super obvious, but I am still awaiting my acceptance letter from Hogwarts.)
Here’s is our official list:
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
The Family Man
Arthur’s Christmas
Home Alone
The Polar Express
Disney’s A Christmas Carol
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Harry Potter 1
Harry Potter 2
Harry Potter 3
Harry Potter 4
Harry Potter 5
Harry Potter 6
Harry Potter 7 Part 1
Harry Potter 7 Part 2
White Christmas
Fred Claus
Deck the Halls
The Santa Clause 1
The Santa Clause 2
The Santa Clause 3
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Christmas with the Krank’s
We already owned quite a few of these movies, but over the years they’ve gotten scratched and ruined. When the the kids were little, they used to chew on DVD’s. Awesome. Luckily, we found a lot of the movies at a used book store in Tacoma. Some were used and some were brand new, but we paid way less than we would have by buying them at Target or Walmart.
Now we just have to make the time to watch them! I’m sure there will be days when we don’t get to watch our movie, but I’ll try anything to make staying home in my pajamas sound fun.
