My favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe is no secret. It’s probably the most obvious recipe ever: it’s on the back of the Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip bag. But it’s sooooo good. It’s not complicated and you probably already have all the ingredients in your cupboard.
Mix together the flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
Then in a separate bowl beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract. Add 2 eggs, but 1 at a time.
Gradually add flour mixture.
Then stir in chocolate chips.
Drop into 1 tablespoon balls onto un-greased baking sheet.
Bake for 9-11 minutes, then cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
I made a whole batch, which took about 30 minutes. They were gone within 6 minutes as soon as I took them out of the oven. The boys can smell cookies from the next zip code.
So I learned my lesson the hard way: always double the recipe.
