After this weekend, 2 things are clear to me. 1.) Cannon Beach is gorgeous. So much cleaner than the beaches in Washington. 2.) I’m in my mid-thirties. Sleeping in is 8am and I can’t spend all weekend out and go to work the next morning without a huge headache.
Sighes.
But anyway, Cannon Beach was so fun. This was the view from our hotel window. Blue skies and Haystack Rock. We stayed at the Surfsand Resort and I can’t say enough good things about them. It was clean, good sized rooms, pool and hot tub, located right on the beach, ice cream socials in the afternoon and super friendly staff. They definitely set the bar high.
Had to get a photo with this handsome guy!
And also, THIS handsome guy. 🙂
Living in the pacific northwest is the best. I love that we have mountains and green trees. A huge ocean with the coolest beaches. I love living here and I never want to take it for granted.
We ate breakfast at the Osprey Cafe, which I found thanks to Yelp! The place is small, so the wait might be a little long…but it’s worth it. The biscuits and gravy were fresh (he doesn’t evens start making the biscuits until you order them) and the bacon was AMAZING.
The birthday boy himself! And his super cute wife. 🙂
When in Oregon…you go to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Okay, it may not be a huge tourist attraction to many, but once I heard “free cheese samples and ice cream” I was all over Google Maps trying to find the quickest route there.
If you haven’t had a grilled cheese made with FRESH Tillamook Sharp Chedddar…your life is sad to me you absolutely need to try it.
One of my favorite stops on the trip. Bruce’s Candy Kitchen. It’s like a mini-version of Willy Wonka’s inside where they make the taffy right there on the spot. Basically, my happy place.
They had a Peanut. Butter. And. Jelly. Taffy. Yep, totally bought it.
And now I’m paying for it. I remember the days of going to bed at 2am and waking up for work at 6am like NO BIG DEAL. And now I’m in bed by 9pm and still waking up with a raging headache.
Probably nothing a little taffy can’t fix. 🙂
