I don’t even like to say it. It’s like a bad word. Budget. Ew.
I just want to win the Lotto and walk around town throwing $500 Visa Gifts at random strangers; spreading happiness and helping the economy. Unfortunately, I don’t play the lottery, so the chances of this happening are slim to none.
So, with a new year ahead of us, it’s probably time to sit down and re-evaluate our budget.
I ran a few reports of our spending in 2014 and 2 things are painfully obvious. 1.) I go to Target for cotton balls and QTips and leave with boots, cat food (we don’t even own a cat), nail polish, an apple cutter, wine glasses, a $5 DVD, baked Lays Potato Chips, a plaid scarf, swim suit cover up. note cards and a Toblerone Bar. 2.) I need to move out of the radius of Jimmy John’s delivery.
Luckily, I have support and this morning Savannah and I met at Starbucks to make a plan for saving money in the coming year. The plan is: don’t set foot in a Target. 🙂
The second half of that plan is to pay off some credit card debt and put money into Savings. I have quite a lot of Home Projects that I’d like to do this year, but none of those seem important when I’m at Target standing in front of a curling iron that literally sucks in your hair straight and spits it our curly. No, seriously, that’s what it does. I know, I want one too.
Anyway, the bottom line is we are going to make a HUGE effort to start putting funds away for us and our kids this year.
Here’s a blog post I came across that got me super motivated…hope it does the same for you!
BEST. POST. EVER.
