New Year’s Day. Time to get re-focused and re-organized and take this year by the balls. 🙂
In 2015, I want to…
Get More Healthy
I’ve decided to get back to Hot Yoga. When I look back at photos of myself, the ones I’m most happy with are from when I was doing a combination of Hot Yoga and running. I remember loving my skin when I was in and out of the yoga studio…sweating that much gives you that radiant, pregnant glow without the long, sleepless nights. (And the baby.)
Get More Books
Sometimes I forget about how much I love to read. Until I see a girl reading quietly in a coffee shop downtown and think, “Why am I looking at home decor I can’t afford on Pinterest, when I could be reading?!” I updated my GoodReads account and am gonna hit the ground running this year!
Get More Family Time
Last summer, we made a huge effort to go on family adventures. We went hiking, we white water rafted, took ferry rides, explored restaurants, did as much sight-seeing as we possibly could and it was so much fun. I want to do more of that. Get in the car at 6am on a Saturday morning, with a full tank of gas, and see where the road takes you.
Get More Note Cards
I love buying and sending notecards Snail Mail. When I was little, I always loved getting mail. Didn’t matter what it was either: birthday card? Yep. Publishers Clearing House? I’ll take it. I’m also obsessed with paper. If I was to ever win the lottery, I’d put aside a special budget just for buying notecards and wrapping paper. (I’m currently craving these cards.) I want to write more cards this year and just let friends know that I’m thinking of them.
Get More Marriage Counseling
After 13 years of marriage, Huz and I decided it was time to check in and take a look under the hood. We’ve been seeing a Christian Marriage Counselor for a few months now and the little nuggets of insight we’ve gained have been well worth the co-pay. 🙂 We both realized that we always want to take our marriage to the next level and there are infinite levels. So we made the call and it’s pretty much been one of the best decisions we’ve made.
Get More Girl Time
Speaking of “best decisions”, I hope to continue my weekly (sometimes monthly) book club with my girlfriends. I had no idea how much I needed that girl time until the 1st week we met. There are certain things that I need from Huz, love and words of affirmation, etc. But there is encouragement and support that I really need from my girlfriends who just get it. They understand when I show up to Book Club with 2 different shoes on. They also consider microwave popcorn an acceptable dinner. Who doesn’t need that kind of support?
Get To The Kitchen
The thing that I don’t like about cooking is thinking of what to cook and how I’m going to get to Safeway. I don’t mind cooking when I have all the ingredients already in my cupboards/fridge. Most of the time, I crave my own food. With the exception of Thai Food, because nobody makes it like Ayothaya. This year, I’m hoping to get back on schedule of meal planning and grocery shopping on Sunday’s. It makes the work week so much easier.
Cheers to a great 2015!
