It’s that time of year again. When I abandon my blog and instead sit on the couch watching Housewives of *insert city here* and eating Chex Mix straight out of the pan.
But I had to take a minute and share all (maybe not all) the photos from my birthday. It’s one of my favorite traditions. Seattle. Hotel. Black Friday. No agenda. Lots of food.
First stop of the night was The Lodge. I found this place on Yelp and knew it would be a hit. Sports Bar with rustic decor? Done.
These photos don’t do it justice. It was beautiful inside. The fireplace, the wood floors, the barrels in the rafters…it was gorgeous.
Favorite girls.
Favorite guy.
Next stop was The Yard House. I always wish I was hungrier when we go here. They have a huge menu and a ton of delicious sounding dishes, but I’m never that hungry by the time we get here. Next year, we might have to start here.
Just 2 guys walking around in Seattle, trying not to get mistaken for protestors.
Known this guy forever and love him to the moon and back. It’s kinda weird that he’s sitting on my lap. It makes it less weird that his wife is my best friend and took the photo. Or wait, does that make it more weird?
Here’s Jen showing off with her pull-ups. Clearly it worked. Look at Huz’s face.
Total. Jelly.
Another must-do on our trip to Seattle: take the guys’ photo at Elephant & Castle.
Cee, you’re really starting to look like your husband.
This week has been dragging on. I haven’t been feeling that great and more than anything, I wish I could be back at this hotel with these people. (And Jen & Andy, who were out parking their car when we took this photo.)
I’m so thankful for these friends. I really do hope we’re still doing this tradition when we’re 70 years old.
Oh, last photo. This was the lobby of our hotel, Hotel Roosevelt. It was all decorated for Christmas and smelled amazing inside. The concierge was super helpful and even gave us some tickets for free appetizers at a restaurant down the street.
Unfortunately, that’s about all the good things I have to say about the hotel. The rooms were really small and the beds even smaller. And the walls were paper-thin. I’m pretty sure I heard our neighbor wake up and pee at 2am. Eek.
In the end, 33 went out with a bang. Cheers to 34!
