I’ll be honest. I don’t LOVE baseball. I like going to the games and hanging out, I love the food at Safeco Field and I even like the first…5 innings. But 9 innings? I just don’t understand why there needs to be NINE. That’s a lot. Why not just 7? It’s a good time to get up, stretch…and leave.
Last night was Family Night up at Safeco, so last minute, we decided to get the kids out of the house and eat some garlic fries go watch some baseball.
We first stopped at Jimmy’s which is located directly across the street from the stadium. Looking through the windows, I wasn’t sure it would be a very kid-friendly place to eat. It looked more like a sports bar from the outside. But once we got inside I was pleasantly surprised. They had a kids menu and the prices were fair. They even had TVs in the bathroom that were playing Cartoon Network. (The kids kept finding reasons to go to the bathroom…what’s better than going #2 and watching The Amazing World of Gumball? Nothing.)
This is my Crab Macaroni & Cheese. It was so, so good. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat it all and they won’t let you take food into Safeco. So I had to leave it behind. It was like leaving behind a child. It just sat there on the table, abandoned and alone. Ugh. Tears.
Seattle hit 90 degrees yesterday; and because we were in the 300 level (the nosebleeds, if you will), it felt even hotter. I had to use my Felix Hernandez towel as a sweat mop. Sorry, Felix. But once the sun went down, it was perfect. Aside from getting whipped in the face with Aidon’s Felix Hernandez towel. Kid kept flinging it around and hitting me in the eye!
Getting a few pointers from Dad.
Had to take a little shade break from the heat!
After 7 innings and a berry shish-kabob, we decided to beat the traffic and head home. The M’s were up 7-1 and it was just starting to rain. And like I said…I’m good with 7 innings.
