This weekend was definitely one for the record books. Amazing weather, no agenda and lots of family time. We have some relatives in town from St. Louis this week, and it was good to see 1/5 of my 20 cousins. 🙂
We headed out to my uncles beach cabin in Vaughn on Sunday. It’s only about 40 minutes away, but any destination that is outside of Pierce County qualifies as a Road Trip in my eyes. My favorite Road Trip Snacks include Lemon Snapple and Wasabi Almonds. I say this like I have it all the time, but truth be told, I just discovered Wasabi Almonds last week. But they are really good.
And this was my view for most of the afternoon…
My uncle giving us all a lesson on how to eat shrimp. It was super yummy, however, Huz has been in the bathroom since the minute we stepped in the door back home. I don’t know if it was the shrimp that actually made him sick, but I do know that we probably won’t be having any type of seafood again for quite some time.
The little culprits (aka Huz’s shrimp tacos)
Jackson doing a little body surfing.
The water was perfect. Crystal clear.
That little dot you see out there is Huz on a stand up paddle board. Sadly, he did not fall in. (I say “sadly” because I had my video camera out and ready to film his fall, with the hopes of sending it in to America’s Funniest Home Videos and winning $10,000 and being able to remodel our kitchen. So yes, sadly, the Rustic Bay Tile will have to wait.)
We weren’t in the car for more than 5 minutes before I looked back and they were passed out.
Days like today are what summer is all about! (Minus the puking, of course.)
