I’m still recuperating from my week of being sick, so our week of photos is pretty low-key.
Friday night the only thing that sounded good to eat were Root Beer Popsicles. So Huz went out and bought me a box, God bless him. This would continue to be my breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole weekend. Which makes me wonder…maybe that’s why I don’t feel great? Nah.
Saturday we moved my old desk into Jackson’s room. He’s been begging us for a desk and this one really is too small for me. So he was ecstatic when we told him to clear a space for his very own desk. Notice that we don’t quite have a chair that fits the desk yet, but he’s made this one work by stacking up boxes underneath it. Fitting, that he wants to be an “inventor” when he grows up.
Saturday I also took down all of the curtains in my closet and sent them with Huz to drop off at the dry cleaners to be hemmed. I’m really excited to get them back, all perfectly pressed and the exact right length. It’s the little things.
Sunday afternoon a friend dropped by with a Caramel Flan Latte and it was the perfect time to play catch up. We see each other a lot at church, but it was nice to sit down and really catch up,. Not just the, “Hey, how are you? Good, how are you? Good, how are your kids? Good, how are your kids?” But more, “Where is your career going? Are your boys going through this? How are you balancing this? Do you need me to help you out in this area? I saw this great idea about this.” I love those conversations. And the girlfriends to have them with even more.
The rest of Sunday night was spent drinking hot lemon water with homemade chicken fajitas, while watching The Grammy’s. The real winner, in my opinion, was John Legend. I love that song and he performs it so beautifully.
It was a great, relaxing weekend, even if I was a little under the weather. I think I’m ready to tackle the week. 🙂
