I came across a post on Instagram the other night that completely spoke to my heart called the Unedited Life Project. It’s about HONEST social media. What a concept, right? I love social media and blogging and making new friends, but the truth is I only show you what I want you to see. And while a pretty picture of a finished product is a whole lot nicer to look at, it can create a false perception that I “have it all together.” And I sure don’t! It reminds me of Martha Stewart’s old show: she’d show you how to cook something with all the ingredients pre-measured underneath the counter and the finished casserole waiting in the oven to serve. If only it was that easy!
So last week, rather than show you the 5 Cheese Ziti that I made, here is the MESS of dishes that I got to clean up afterwards. (Along with my candle in the background that completely melted all over the garden window. Awesome.)
I still plan on posting cute, edited (sometimes staged) photos, but I also want to be real…because, to me, THAT is what is truly inspiring.
