Day 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26:
So I should let you all know, I am amazing at setting goals. Like, I set thee most amazing goals. Meeting those goals? Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Okay, so I have still be keeping up on my challenge. Kinda. Let’s see what I can remember…
Day 12. It was a Saturday… Oh, that’s right. The boys watched football all day. ALL DAY. And I didn’t say a word. I just cleaned up their messes and made their lunch.
Day 13, I picked out his clothes for him. This sounds funny, but he tends to stress out about what matches, what doesn’t match. So while he was in the shower, I picked out his clothes.
Day 14 I pre-made our coffee the night before, so that it was all ready when he woke up Monday morning.
Day 15 we finally watched Hostages & The Blacklist. There are certain shows that we record that we have to watch together. If you watch the show before the other person, you’ll be sleeping on the couch. So I waited all weekend these 2 shows (hello, self-control) and we watched them together.
Day 16 was our first Small Group and we ended up hanging out at our house, chatting with friends. I don’t recall doing anything intentionally nice for Huz. Shame on me. But we did sit on the couch and eat a Boston Creme Cake?
Day 17 I had to work late. But I came home on my lunch break and prepped dinner for the boys. Left it all nice and ready to heat up in the fridge.
Day 18 we hung out with some friends and Huz got to pick the RedBox movie.
Day 19 I took my tall(ish) drink of water out to dinner at BJ’s. He picked a noodle & shrimp dish…which he probably could’ve made better himself. But it was good to eat with other adults, who aren’t asking you for more milk every 10 minutes.
Day 20 Huz had to take the kids to Scrooge Rehearsal. He didn’t really need to be there, so I told him he could take my computer to keep himself busy. Letting someone take my computer is like letting someone take my phone. I had some work to do, but I figured I could do it later.
Day 21…again another day that I don’t remember making a conscious decision to do anything nice. I think he gave me a foot rub though?
Day 22 I had a hair appointment and the original plan was to have him pick me up from work and take me out to Tacoma. (Love having 1 car.) But at the last minute, I asked Sav if she could pick me up instead, because we were going to the same appointment. She did, and I bought her a coffee, and Huz didn’t have to leave the house at all.
Day 23 I made dinner. I had to work that night, but ended up getting home a little earlier than I thought. The boys hadn’t eaten yet, so I took over Dinner Duty and made Balsamic Vinegar Chicken.
Day 24 was our church’s Halloween Party. It started at 7:00 and we were desperate need of caffeine. 7:00pm is typically when we’re winding down for the night. We bought ourselves White Chocolate Mochas and then continued to yell at the kids to GET MORE CANDY. I think at one point I yelled at Jackson, “You’re not here to make friends. You’re here to fill your bucket with Cinnamon Bears, now go get in line.” Again, no conscious effort to do anything nice. Unless you count giving him all the Vanilla Tootsie Rolls once the kids went to bed.
Day 25 I had the day off today, which was so nice to be home alone. The boys were in school, Huz was at work and I had the whole house to myself. So I caught up on laundry. He likes it when I fold his clothes, because I fold everything so that it doesn’t need to be ironed. When he folds, almost everything needs to be ironed.
